INTERVIEW
q1.Tell us about your current position.
I am engaged in planning and operation of IT infrastructure as a core business of our IDEC department.
I belong to the Strategic Planning Division of Japan IT Center. We plan and operate IT infrastructure in order to smoothen the internal information systems including the network servers at our headquarters and business offices. Currently I work on projects to migrate the on-premise environment to the cloud environment and upgrading the authentication infrastructure servers throughout the company.
Although what we do at the IT Center is a behind-the-scenes type of work, it serves as a core infrastructure of the entire departmental works at IDEC. In todays business, IT infrastructure is something indispensable. When a failure occurs to IT infrastructure, it will directly affect the business as a whole, so we work proactively to prevent such failures.
q2.Tell us about IDEC's attraction.
It gives me an opportunity to actively work in a global setting as an engineer and offers good office environment and rich benefit programs.
There are 2 reasons I chose IDEC for.
First, the department I belong to, the IT Center, needs to be engaged not only with IT but globally as well. IDEC has overseas business offices so we need to interact with them as needed. One reason I chose IDEC was to become a global talent in addition to my growth as an engineer being engaged with the IT work.
Secondly, its internal environment.
Let alone its good atmosphere, the company provides a variety of facilities such as a cafeteria with lots of affordable and healthy menu, fitness gym, BBQ facility in the courtyard. I think this is quite unusual. Particularly I go to the fitness gym very often which is clean and comes with a shower room. The great thing about the gym is that it is exclusively for the employees so I can use it with a peace of mind. Another attraction about the corporate system is its annual paid leave system which is made easy for employees to consume easily. In my first year at the company, I was able to take an annual paid leave as soon as it was granted to me, lol.
q3.Tell us about your dreams and future goals you want to accomplish at IDEC.
I would like to contribute to the corporate digital transformation from an IT infrastructural perspective.
My research at college focused on a digital transformation about a work in the manufacturing industry. I perceived that promoting digital transformation for knowing issues and routine work can improve productivity, work satisfaction for its safety and security, and many other aspects that lead to value creation. For doing so, the first step I need to take is accumulating knowledge and skills which are never enough. From now own, I would like to reinforce my knowledge acquisition because more specialized knowledge will be required in the future. Finally, I would like to contribute to IDEC's development by supporting the digital infrastructure actualization from IT infrastructural perspective.

How to spend holidays
I am usually not at home. I go out exploring good food and new places at my own pace either with myself or by myself. Often times I set off with no plan in mind but end up reaching to a certain sauna.

My favorite
A hobby I have been really into is earning my Tonttu at a website. To do so, you need visit a certain sauna, then post your comment, how crowded it was, the hot temperature of it, etc.

One recent event that made me happy was an exclusive sauna hat I bought at one of the famous sauna spots. I fully geared up thanks to it. What I am trying to say is "Sauna... great... geared up"
